Homeless California man wins $1M from lottery ticket: report

A homeless California man was given Easter blessings after his lottery tickets were reported to have won him $1 million.

Earlier this month, Reported by LA Times A homeless man instantly became a billionaire after purchasing a scradder ticket from a liquor store in San Luis Obispo.

Wilson Samaan, owner of Sandy’s Liquor, shared his excitement with The Times for the award ticket, saying the winner is a long-time customer.

“I was even more excited than he was,” Summeran told The Times. “He’s a good guy. He deserves every penny. I was so excited that it happened to someone who deserved it, he actually needed it.”

The winner initially thought he had won $100,000, but Summeran informed him that he had won an even greater sum.

Samaan shared a photo of the winning ticket on the store’s Instagram page and a photo of the big check, captioning the post “Very congratulations to loyal customers on the scratch ticket that won the $1 million jackpot at Sandy’s.”

The lucky winner who chose to remain anonymous told the outlet that he plans to buy a house and car with the prize money.

According to the Times, Saman and the winner have a “close relationship” and to make sure he can secure his prize, Saman told the outlet that he drove the winner to Fresno’s California Lottery Office.

The victory is still validated by the California lottery, and a lottery spokesman informed that it could take weeks to verify the victory.

As a retailer who sold winning tickets, the Saman store also enjoys the benefits of winning tickets and collects a $5,000 or 0.5% share of the jackpot.
