In remembrance of Pope Francis, Donald Trump directed that all flags be flown at half-staff.

By the authority granted to me as President of the United States by the Constitution and Law of the United States, to honor the sacred memory of Francis, I hereby declare that the US flags shall be flown at half-staff at all public buildings and grounds, military installations, naval stations in federal districts, military offices, and on ships and local organizations until sunset on the day of burial. This directive also applies to all US embassies, consulates, and other facilities, including military and naval vessels and stations, for the same duration.

Pope Francis passed away early Monday morning.

According to the Vatican, he died from a stroke and heart failure.
