Rafaela Ferreira eager to put her Saudi Arabian GP experience into action in Miami

It was a difficult weekend for F1 Academy driver Rafaela Ferreira, held at Saudi Arabia’s Grand Prix.

Currently, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls drivers are already looking forward to the Miami Grand Prix in two weeks as an opportunity to do everything they have learned on the Jeddah Cornish Circuit.

Ferreira qualified at P13 in the F1 Academy race at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix and finished her first race in the same position. In her second race, she climbed to P8 and ran at the point, but on lap 2, contact with Emma Felbermire made Ferreira hit with a 10-second penalty, dropping her to P13 in the final classification.

“It was a difficult weekend for us. I think I struggled with the track a little, but it improved every time I went out,” Ferreira said in the team’s post-race report. “Qualifying needs to be a little better. Race 1, I struggled a bit, but Race 2 was better. We overtook four cars at the start and went up to P8. Honestly, we were pushing all the laps to open the gap.

“I hit a car in front of me and gave me a 10-second penalty.

Ferreira hopes to take the lessons he learned at Saudi Arabia’s Quick Street Circuit and run it on another street circuit, Miami.

“I’m looking forward to Miami right now. I’m excited about it. I want to start the weekend that’s finished here. I think I’ll take everything I learned here and bring it to Miami,” Ferreira added. “It’s a different street circuit and I’m excited to go to the race there.”

The F1 Academy will head to Miami for the Miami Grand Prix next week, along with the rest of the F1 grid. SB Nation There will be coverage on the ground throughout the week, so check it out frequently as soon as possible!
