Former President Trump has endorsed two Republican candidates vying for Arizona’s upcoming governorship.
In a post on Monday on Truth Social, Trump expressed his support for both GOP candidates, entrepreneur Karrin Taylor Robson and Rep. Andy Biggs (Arizona).
“I really like Karrin Taylor Robson from Arizona. When she approached me for my endorsement, no other candidates had entered the race, so I was pleased to support her,” Trump stated online. “When Andy Biggs made the decision to run for governor, it caught me completely off guard.”
“Two remarkable candidates, two outstanding individuals, two great champions. Therefore, I am honored to extend my complete and total endorsement to both. They will not let you down.”
Robson declared her intention to run in the 2026 governor’s race back in February. With her announcement, she showcased a video of her at an Arizona event in December prior to Trump’s official endorsement of her campaign.
This marks Robson’s second attempt to lead Arizona. She previously campaigned in 2022 but lost to Kari Lake in the Republican primary.
Lake subsequently experienced a narrow defeat against Governor Katie Hobbs (D) in the general election.
Biggs filed a notice of interest in January and later formally announced his campaign.
The conservative Arizona State Assemblyman has served in Congress since 2016 and is the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus.
He recently shared the news of his daughter’s passing. Hobbs and Robson expressed their condolences for his loss.
Biggs appreciated Trump’s endorsement in a post on X.
“It’s been a privilege to support you and advocate for your agenda since 2016,” Biggs commented. “I look forward to campaigning alongside you as Governor of Arizona.”
With Arizona’s shift from blue to red in the last presidential election, these results provide the GOP with optimism about reclaiming the governor’s mansion.
Still, Hobbs retains the title of the widely favored governor, boasting a 46% approval rating. Noble predictive insights.
