Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman weren’t on most people’s radar.
The American tennis star and USWNT standout highlighted their relationship on social media last month, and Shelton was shocked by the public’s response.

Shelton lost 6-2, 6-4 to top-seeded German Alexander Zverev on Sunday.
The American played in his fourth career final just three years after becoming a pro.
Shelton became professional in June 2022 after winning the NCAA Singles title at the University of Florida that year.
As a freshman, Shelton won the 2021 NCAA men’s title.
Shelton recognizes that he has made a short revival of stardom both inside and outside the courthouse, but he focuses on surrounding himself with the right people, including Rodman.
“It’s a quick move, a big lifestyle adjustment, something to get used to, but there are some great people around me who keep me grounded and straightened my head,” he said. “So, I think there’s easier time than others because we have an incredible support system, and that’s the most important thing.
“To be honest, I didn’t really care much about all the successes. I was more careful about the people I was doing that, and I got a lot of people in my corner where I enjoy being around.
“A lot of people want to see you fall, I choose to focus on the people in my corner every day.
Shelton spoke with the post on behalf of Thorn. It is the only supplement manufacturer that works with Mayo Clinic on health and wellness research and content.
