NFL draft could get ‘a little wild’ with GM predicting trade bonanza

Bears general manager Ryan Pauls is hoping for some fireworks during the 2025 NFL Draft.

At a pre-draft press conference on Tuesday, Poles said the franchise is ready for Thursday’s festivities.

“I’m really confident where we are, and I think this will be a little wild,” Poles said. “But prepare you for all of the different scenarios that pop up.

“…I think there’s a lot more movement than in the past,” he added. “It’s hard to tell today because there are so many calls now. But as we get closer, I think it’s starting to show itself.”

The Bears hold the No. 10 pick in the draft and appear to be open to the possibility of rising or falling if the right opportunity appears.

Despite Poles’ comments, there appears to be some degree of certainty at the top of the draft.

The NFL Network reported Tuesday that the Titans are set to win Miami’s quarterback comeward on their first overall pick.

But certainty clearly hangs there.

ESPN reported The Browns and Giants, who hold second and third picks, respectively, are “following trade inquiries” within two days before they become watches.

Giants GM Joe Schoen recently said he received a call on the pick and showed it was open to all options.

The team the outlet is about to report on is considering drafting Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter, Pennsylvania State Pass Rusher Abdul Carter and Boise State Running Ashton Janti.

Where Colorado quarterback Chedure Sanders goes is another wildcard approaching the 2025 draft.

The Steelers, who hold their 21st pick and reportedly want to “deal with the quarterback early,” are considering drafting Sanders, the son of Buffalo head coach and Football Hall of Fame Deon Sanders.
