Shannon Sharp finds himself in highly publicized civilian combat after being accused of sexual assault this week.
The Football Hall of Fame was accused of attacks, sexual assault, batteries and sexual batteries that became a national television star. He was also accused of being “involved in a deliberate violation of emotional distress,” and his accuser had sought $50 million in damages.
The situation is already very ugly, with Sharp calling the allegations a “shakedown” and he and his legal team have released sexually explicit messages that the woman allegedly sent him over time. The woman is represented by Tony Buzby, who represented 20 women who accused Desshaun Watson of sexual assault.
Buzbee also represented the woman who condemned the attack when Jay-Z and Diddy were 13 years old. The charges have been dropped and Jay-Z is currently suing a woman and Buzbee.

Sharp is currently the guest host of ESPN’s “First Take,” and Stephen A. Smith’s mainstay has broken the silence about the “sad situation” that his “friend” is currently in.
“We’ve grown closer as friends. I certainly have him rooted. I know he’s going through a lot in life. He’s overcome a lot. When he left Fox, I was happy to take him here.
Smith said he spoke with Sharp, “emphasizing and declaring his innocence.” Smith “lives his hopes and prayers that he is completely innocent,” but he stopped saying this on his own and criticized Sharp’s reaction to the allegations.
“On the one hand, I fully understand where Shannon Sharp came from, in order to keep attacking and protect myself. On the other hand, when his legal team issued a press release yesterday on X, they mentioned her name and revealed some of those explicit text messages. “One of the hardest things in the world that we all do is just get low and quiet and have the legal team do that. And we don’t always know if that’s the right thing to do.”

“I know, and I spoke to you not to detail but to Shannon, but I spoke to him, and he declared with emphasis on his innocence, and his client declared with emphasis on his guilt.
Smith added that he doesn’t know what the final outcome is in terms of Sharp’s employment at ESPN or that he doesn’t know what he’s doing in the “first take,” but after talking to ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro, Pitaro, he said, “I made it very clear that I’m taking this issue very seriously.
“In my perfect world, this corresponds to Jay Z, whose case finally fell, Shannon is allowed to continue his “first take” in the stratosphere of podcasts, to continue his sparkling, to have a shining career… in my perfect world he moves. She’s right, and she’s telling the truth.
“I hope this is a sad ordeal that will all disappear, as there was no truth, but I don’t know. Neither you nor us remain. Tell us what the truth is.”
Sharp’s lawyer, Lanny J. Davis, said the release of the explicit message between plaintiffs and Sharp “clearly indicates that the nature of their relationship is often the consensus and sexual nature that she initiates with concrete, graphic requests.”
The complaint accused Sharp of committing “manipulation and control of the plaintiff” and threats of violence against her.
