Pak Army Chief’s “Jugular Vein” Speech Viral Again After J&K Terror Strike

New Delhi:

At least 26 people have been killed, and several others have been injured after terrorists fired fire on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Tuesday in the worst attack in the country in nearly 20 years. The attack took place in popular tourist spots in the scenic Himalayas region of Pahargam district.

The terrorist attack in Pahargam district by J&K came just days after Pakistan’s Army Prime Minister Asim Munir described Kashmir as the “jugular vein” of Islamabad.

Pakistani Army Secretary’s remarks

Working on the overseas Pakistan Conference held in Islamabad on April 16, General Munir spoke about Kashmir and said, “Our attitude is absolutely clear, it is our jugular vein, it is our jugular vein, and we will not forget it.

He told a gathering of Pakistanis based overseas that he should not forget that they are the ambassadors of the country and that they belong to “good ideology and culture.”

“You should definitely tell your children the story of Pakistan. Our ancestors thought we were different from Hindus in all aspects of our lives. Our religions, our customs, our traditions, our thoughts, our ambitions are different.

He also defended the theory of two countries that was the basis of the 1947 partition.

Pahargam terrorist attack

Terrorists attacked at a major tourist location in Pahargam’s Baisalan Valley, a hilltop meadow known as “Mini Switzerland,” killing at least 26 people, mostly tourists, and injuring 17 others on Tuesday afternoon. The deaths included 25 Indians and one Nepali national, police said.

Video footage taken by survivors showed the bodies lying in a meadow where people were crying and pleading for help.

It was the worst attack on Indian civilians since the Mumbai shooting in 2008, killing more than 160 people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who shortened his trip to Saudi Arabia and arrived in India on Wednesday morning, said “this heinous act has been brought to trial and is inevitable.”

Terrorist groups claim responsibility

Resistancefront, a shadow group of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (let) terrorist group, has argued responsibility for attacks on social media messaging. He said he was unhappy that more than 85,000 “outsiders” settled in the area and spurred “demographic changes.”

However, there is a government statement awaiting to confirm the involvement of the Resistance Front in the attack.
