Police launch manhunt after convicted murderer flees open prison in Scotland | Scotland

Police launched a Manhunt after a convicted murderer fled from an open prison in Scotland.

Raymond McCourt, 59, was reported missing from HMP Castle Huntley in Dundee at 5:30pm Tuesday.

Police Scotland warns the public not to get close to him.

McCourt is 6 feet 2 inches stocky, has short gray hair and a beard, and is less mobile.

He uses public transport with ties to Glasgow and the Edinburgh area, the force added.

The convicted murderer was last known to wear a blue shirt with a long black trench coat, gray dress pants, a gray waistcoat, a red and white tie and brown shoes.

McCourt was killed in 1993 for the murder of shopkeeper Khalid Mahmood and the shooting death of the woman Moira Rooney and PC Brian Williams, who were pursuing the pursuit.

He was jailed for charges of murder, attempted murder, attempted assault and robbery, serious assault and firearm crime.

McCourt was released in 2015 but returned to prison after stolen his partner’s valuables from his Perthshire home and admitted to selling them within weeks of his release.
