Joe Shane’s son, Carson, famously told his father last year that Jaden Daniels would draft Jaden Daniels with a viral “hard knock” clip, telling the Giants general manager, “I’ve only received this job once. I can win.”
This proved to be healthy advice. Daniels looked like a franchise quarterback, becoming an offensive rookie of the year, leading his manager to the NFC Championship Game.
A year later, it’s possible that Carson is making a bet again, as he could potentially ride how well Joe’s upcoming draft class can have an impact on the 2025 season.
Carson reposted the highlights, and rumored Giants quarterback target Jaxson Dart allegedly targeted the target on Instagram story on Wednesday.
Many mock drafts linking the Giants to dirt, including the final version of Steve Selby in the Post. The Giants return to the first round and grabbed Oremisquarterback on No. 24.
Whether this situation plays as well as the situation involving Mets manager Carlos Mendoza, when one of his sons said he posted the Mets, later deleted his account in all public scrutiny after the Mets provided $700 million to Tiktok over 15 years.
The Mets ultimately outperformed the Yankees, signing Soto for $765 million over 15 years.
The big difference here is that if the Giants hand him over with the third pick, they could potentially land the darts.
Many have predicted the Giants to draft Abdul Carter in the Penn State Pass Rush on the third pick, and Carter also hinted at his expectations on Wednesday.
“We’re definitely in New York right now, but we’ll see what happens (Thursday),” Carter said of the team he has the best feelings to say.
Carter will help with pass rushing, but the quarterback is the most important position on the field, and the Giants currently lack a young option that could stabilize their position in the future.
The Giants signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jamis Winston this offseason, but they don’t have a younger option.
Many speculate that the Giants can trade back to the first round in hopes of landing the quarterback, and DART uses one potential option.
Colorado’s Shedur Sanders is suddenly expected to slide in the draft to the Steelers on their 21st pick, but Louisville’s Tyler Schaff is creating a slow buzz.
The Giants were able to wait to pick one of the quarterbacks on their 34th pick in the second round, but they would risk losing the possibility of jumping and all of the signal characters mentioned above.
Dart set a career-high in passing yards with 4,279 and last year passed a Rebel touchdown pass with 29, but threw six intercepts.
The Giants have clearly smashed gold with Eli Manning’s Ole Miss quarterback, and perhaps history can repeat itself with the darts.
Also, this suspicious Instagram Story post could be nothing more than a misinformation to make the other team believe the Giants are all in the dirt.
