The legendary goaltender used the opportunity to hit the cards.
“Tonight, Russia has killed at least nine people and injured 63 people in Ukraine. At the same time, AM. President (Donald Trump) cannot condemn these horrible crimes,” Hasek wrote about X. It went to Ukraine and its people.
“Instead, Trump criticizes Ukrainian leaders and democratic world leaders. He defends his country and doesn’t want to give criminals parts such as Crimea. The US president is a traitor of the democratic world.”
The Trump administration is now trying to negotiate a peace deal to end the war that was more than three years ago.
American officials have clearly come to mind the idea of recognizing control of Crimea, a territory that Russia seized in 2014 as part of its ceasefire proposal. This includes the freeze on the current frontline.

In 2022, Zelensky said, “The Russian war against Ukraine and Free Europe as a whole must begin in Crimea and end with Crimea and its liberation.” He repeated this stance on Tuesday, shutting down the idea that Ukraine would recognize Russia’s control of Crimea.
“Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea,” Zelensky said at a press conference on Tuesday. “There’s nothing to talk about here. This is against our constitution.”

Trump condemned the Ukrainian president’s statement on Crimea, saying it was “very harmful” to peaceful efforts.
“What makes this war so difficult is inflammatory statements like Zelenskyy that are making it extremely difficult,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday. “He has nothing to boast about! The situation in Ukraine is disastrous. He can have peace.
Trump also rejected Zelensky’s red line in the social post of truth, saying that it was “not even a point of discussion” because the territory was “lost a few years ago” under then-President Barack Obama.
