US State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce avoided Pakistani journalists on Friday during a press conference that questioned her about India-Pakistan border tensions following Pahargam terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have revealed that the United States stands in India and is strongly condemning all forms of terrorism, she said. She said the United States prays for the recovery of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks and those injured.
In the terrorist attacks in Pahargam, she said, “As President Trump and Secretary Rubio have revealed, the United States is standing with India and strongly condemns all terrorist acts. We pray for the recovery of those injured and pray for the perpetrators of this heinous act to be guided by justice.”
President Trump had called Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express his sadness towards the victims of the terrorist attacks. Prime Minister Modi thanked Trump for his support and said India is determined to bring the perpetrators and supporters of this “co-ill-stricken, violent terrorist attack” to justice.
On April 22, terrorists killed 26 people, including tourists, in Baisaran, a popular tourist in Pahargam, South Kashmir, known as “Mini Switzerland.”
Attending a public meeting in Bihar’s Madhubani yesterday, Prime Minister Modi vowed that India would “identify, track and punish “aidens” who were involved in the Pahargam massacre and pursue murderers to the “edge of the earth.”
“Today, from the soil of Bihar, I say to the whole world that India will identify, track and punish all terrorists and their supporters. We pursue them to the edge of the earth. The Indian spirit will never be broken by terrorism.”
In its first retaliation, India announced punitive measures against Pakistan. This includes suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and downgrading diplomatic relations. India announced on Thursday that it would cancel all visas issued to Pakistani citizens from April 27th, advised Indian citizens living in Pakistan to return home at the earliest in the tensions between the two countries.
