Doctor fired for speaking out against child sex changes wins big settlement against University of Louisville

University of Louisville officials agreed to pay nearly $1.6 million solve Their case with Dr. Alan Josephson, a university-demoted professor, was canned to speak out against changes in child sex after 15 years of prominent service.

“I’m happy to finally receive justification to utter what I know is true,” Josephson said. I said in a statement on Monday.

Gender ideology and the sexual change regime it arose in the West have suffered a series of fatal blows in recent years.

This is what the so-called gender-affirming care practices were. Going out As a catastrophic pseudoscience; practitioners have been troubled by their own words as a fault agent for free wheels. And the stories of LGBT activists in favour of sexual change have collapsed in the face of increasing contradictory evidence. Meanwhile, nationwide and beyond, lawmakers have passed laws and policies that confirm meaningful, constant distinctions between men and women, prevent male invasions in women’s spaces, and protect children from sexual change procedures.

The general opinion is now Definitely against Gender ideology and its corresponding medicalization of children, and in recent years, those who have been in position against gender transformation regimes often did so with great reputation and occupational risks. Dr. Alan Josephson found this the hard way.

“Contrary to the inclusion message, we welcome what we have sent.”

A psychiatrist, Josephson enrolled in the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2003 and successfully led the department of psychiatry and psychology for children and adolescents before Josephson spoke to a Heritage Foundation panel in October 2017. “Children’s Gender Discomfort: Understanding Science and Medicine.”

Josephson had previously expressed concern about the medical procedures that children experiencing so-called gender discomfort were subjected to – explained – explained:

Gender dysphoria is a sociocultural and psychological phenomenon that cannot be fully addressed with drugs or surgery. Therefore, doctors and others should explore what causes this confusion and help children learn how to deal with this developmental challenge.

According to For court documents, the psychiatrist’s opinion appears to have not sat well with Brian Buford, director of the university’s LGBT executive centre, who contacted Toni Ganzel, then-Based Degree in Medicine.

Ganzel said Josephson’s remarks “doesn’t reflect the culture” that the school “works hard to promote.”

Concerns quickly snowballed after realising Josephson’s “very conservative position.” A doctor’s colleague began to start Hector on his remarks, and by the end of November 2017, they had pressured him to step down as chief of the department to express his opinion outside the line with the new Orthodox.

Under pressure, Josephson agreed to resign as division commander in early December 2017. However, this did not satisfy his in-depth ideologue, who was clearly keen on the institutional uniformity of visuals on the issue.

Court documents show that colleagues in the school’s LGBT Executive Center and Josephson’s department plotted weakening him.

“Public universities don’t have a professor of business punishment just because they have different views.”

Josephson is clearly being monitored and told not to treat non-straight patients, and his actions detail what officials from one department called “Alan Tracking Documents.” A colleague who was troubled by his comments also criticized Josephson’s work performance and productivity.

By February 2019, it was revealed that the school had decided not to renew its doctor contract. Shortly afterwards, Josephson filed suits against several university officials, claiming First Amendment retaliation.

The university fought the case to the US Court of Appeals in the Sixth Circuit. Domination In September:

  • Josephson’s speech was constitutionally protected because it addressed the issue of public concern.
  • University officials failed to demonstrate that Josephson’s “utterances had a major destructive effect on medical school activities.” and
  • A reasonable ju-degree could find that each of the defendants “engaged in a speech protected by the first amendment because they retaliated against Josephson.”

As they realise they are fighting the losing battle, university officials apparently agreed to pay nearly $1.6 million in damages and attorneys’ fees to settle the lawsuit.

“A few years later, freedom of speech and common sense have earned a big victory on university campus.” I said Travis Barham, Senior Advisor Alliance for Freedoma group representing Josephson.

“As early as 2014, Dr. Josephson saw the truth behind the dangerous procedures that activists were pushing children suffering from sex,” Burham continued. “He risked his livelihood and reputation to speak boldly the truth, and the university punished him for expressing his opinion – by ultimately dismissing him.

“Hopefully other public universities will learn that if they violate the First Amendment, they can be accountable and can be extremely expensive,” Barham added.

“Children are better than life-changing procedures that can injure the body and destroy the ability to live a fulfilling life. Despite the circumstances that have been suffering from my university, my case is overwhelmed to see other healthcare workers being able to see universal truths, while being impossible to change biological sex.
