President Donald Trump is expected to sign Monday’s executive order, ensuring he is skilled at speaking English, which Breitbart News can reveal.
White House documents on the expected executive order reviewed by Breitbart News aim to ensure that people who run commercial vehicles in the United States are qualified and skilled English speakers.
“President Trump believes English is an unnegotiable safety requirement for professional drivers as he can read and understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, communicate with officials at the border patrol, agricultural checkpoints and cargo weight limiting stations, and provide feedback and directions in English,” the document states.
Under the expected order, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is “instructed to withdraw and replace guidance to strengthen inspection procedures for compliance with English proficiency requirements.”
For many years, the existing federal standards for commercial drivers to read and speak English are “not enforced,” according to the documents.
The expected order is, “Drivers who violate English proficiency rules will be placed outside the service and will be obligated to revise out-of-service standards to improve road safety.”
Duffy is also subject to evaluation of the protocol for the reliability verification of commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs).
Additionally, Duffy has been directed to improve working conditions for truck drivers through “additional control, regulation or enforcement actions” under the expected executive order.
Trump took enforcement action in March to establish English as the official US language. Some of the orders are as follows:
It is America’s greatest concern that the federal government designates only one official language to promote unity, foster a shared American culture for all citizens, ensure consistency in government operations, and create a path to citizen engagement. Establishing English as an official language not only streamlines communication, it also strengthens shared national values and creates a more cohesive and efficient society.
The president is scheduled to sign an executive order at 5pm on Monday at the oval office.
