The Rangers broadcast booth continues to undergo changes.
Joe Micheletti announced his retirement on Thursday via a press release from the MSG Network, and was 19 years as an analyst at the Bruce Hart television booth.
There are no replacements for each source yet, but regular suspects such as Dave Maloney, Brian Boyle, and Ryan Callahan should be taking part in the running.
“From Minnesota pond hockey to the bright lights of Broadway, my hockey journey was a magical ride,” Micheletti said in a statement. “My wife, Kathy and I have been thinking about this for several years and have decided that this is the right time to retire and we look forward to spending more time with our family.
The news comes shortly after it was announced that Kenny Albert would replace Rangers with Sam Rosen as the caller for Playby.
Rosen concluded his 40th season at the booth after the 2024-25 campaign.
Micheletti was named Rangers TV Analyst for MSG Network in September 2006.
The 70-year-old enjoyed a highly successful broadcasting career, covering five Winter Olympics, 25 Stanley Cup finals and 15 NHL All-Star games. This comes after its invasion of space in 1985 as part of the St. Louis Blues Radio Team.
Former defenseman Micheletti won two national championships at the University of Minnesota and played three seasons in the NHL for the Blues and Colorado Rockies.
He also served as an assistant blues coach for three seasons.

“Joe's experience as a player and coach, his good humor, his unparalleled preparation, his sophisticated on-air skills and love for hockey combined made him one of the leading analysts in the hockey world.” “The MSG Network and its viewers have been fortunate to have him for 27 years as the final 19 TV analyst for the Rangers, a part of our broadcast team. We are grateful for his outstanding service over the years and wish him the best in his retirement.”
