The Golden State Valkyries have decided to reduce the number of sellers from Cheyenne in the upcoming WNBA Draft, where they hold the 17th pick.
Interestingly, ESPN had expected this seller to be picked sixth overall, with Athletics projected for the eighth spot. However, the seller ended up being selected by the WNBA’s new expansion team after an unexpected turn during the first round.
Initially, it appeared she was set for a solid chance with the Valkyries, but the team announced her release after just one week of training camp.
During her four years at Maryland, the seller averaged 12.9 points per game. In her senior year, she recorded an impressive average of 14.4 points, shooting 46.2% overall and 40.8% from three-point range.
WNBA roster cuts set to rise in the early days of training camp
As of now, several players have already been cut from WNBA rosters, with nearly two weeks left until the final lineup is decided.
The Connecticut Sun have recently let go of Morgan Mary, Abbey HSU, and Mia Hollingshed.
The final roster must be confirmed by May 15th, and many teams still need to release between two to six players.
