Trump Discusses Third Term Speculations
On Sunday, during an NBC interview, former President Donald Trump stated that he hasn’t contemplated a third presidential term.
Host Kristen Welker pointed out, “The Trump organization markets a hat labeled Trump 2028. Given the constitutional limitations, are you truly considering a third term?”
Trump responded, “I hear from many people who want it. While I didn’t feel that strong demand initially, I know it’s not something allowed by the rules. There are prominent Republicans who support ideas for the future, but honestly, I think we have four years ahead. That’s plenty of time to accomplish something remarkable.”
Welker noted, “The Constitution indeed forbids that. Some of your supporters seem quite serious about it, and they believe that amending the Constitution is the way forward.”
Trump replied, “That’s a nice compliment; it’s because they appreciate my work.”
Welker then asked, “Do you see yourself as your successor?”
Trump mentioned, “It’s a bit too early for that, but I have a vice president. Typically, JD does an excellent job. I prefer not to get too involved in that; he’s a fantastic guy, and Marco is great too.”
