Shedeur Sanders is gearing up for a tough challenge as he aims to become the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. However, one of his former teammates from college, Lajohntay Wester, has high hopes for him. Wester, who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, shared his optimism about Sanders’ potential.
“I was really let down by how things went for him,” Wester mentioned, adding he knows Sanders is committed and will be working hard to secure a spot in Cleveland.
To break into the starting role, Sanders must outpace competitors like Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, and rookie Dillon Gabriel.
Wester joined the Colorado Buffaloes in the 2024 season after a standout year with Florida Atlantic, accumulating 1,100 yards. He had a successful one-year run with Sanders, catching 74 passes for 931 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns.
Both Sanders and Wester heard their names called during the 2025 NFL Draft, with Baltimore selecting Wester at 203rd overall. It seems Lamar Jackson will be looking to utilize the talents of his new teammates, including Rashod Bateman, Zay Flowers, Tylan Wallace, and Devontez Walker. They also recently signed DeAndre Hopkins.
While the Ravens ended their last season at 12-5, the Browns struggled with a record of 3-14.
