Israel Destroys Yemen’s Primary Airport and Disrupts Houthi Arms Supply Line

Israel has intensified its military operations by targeting Yemen’s main airport, a strategic point for Iran-aligned Houthi rebels, in a bid to cut off their resupply routes.

The recent airstrikes, conducted on Tuesday, followed another strike on Hodeida port just a day prior.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) released a statement regarding the operations.

Recently, IDF aircraft targeted and destroyed Houthi terrorist infrastructure at significant airports in Sanaa, effectively leaving the airport inoperable. This action was a response to an attack by the Houthi group on Ben Gurion Airport. The operation aimed at runways, aircraft, and other facilities at the airport.

Similar to the Hudaydah Port raid, this airport has been crucial for the Houthi regime, facilitating the transfer of weapons and personnel. Daily operations there have supported their terrorist activities, showcasing how the Houthi regime exploits civilian infrastructure for these ends.

Furthermore, multiple key power plants in the Sanaa area were also targeted. The terrorists are utilizing energy infrastructure, demonstrating yet another instance of the Houthi administration’s misuse of Yemeni assets for their terrorist agenda.

The IDF also struck the “Al-Imran” concrete factory located north of Sanaa. This facility plays a significant role in providing materials for the Houthi regime’s underground tunnels and other military projects, thereby further crippling their economic and military capabilities.

Precautions were taken during the strike to minimize civilian and private infrastructure damage.

The operation received authorization from both the IAF commander and the chief of the general staff.

For the past 18 months, the Houthi regime has been acting under Iranian guidance and financing, with the intent to challenge Israel and its allies, jeopardizing regional stability and freedom of navigation worldwide.

The IDF remains committed to continuing its operations despite the risks posed to Israeli citizens.

In a separate statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alluded to the possibility of further actions against Iran.

I have consistently indicated that anyone who threatens the state of Israel is effectively putting themselves in danger. Yesterday, I stated that the Houthi attack could lead to multiple retaliatory strikes, not just a singular response. We dealt a significant blow to Hodeida Port yesterday and today our aircraft targeted Sanaa Airport. This airport facilitates aerial operations that allow for missile attacks against us and terrorist factions.

Our decisions regarding when and how to respond, as well as which targets to hit, are carefully calculated at each step. This principle also encompasses Iran, the key supporter of the Houthis, which has been essential for their capability to launch attacks against us.

President Trump articulated this message a month and a half ago, and I reaffirm it today—we will hold accountable anyone who attacks Israel.

The US also participated in airstrikes against Houthi targets in Sanaa on Monday, operating from the Red Sea.
