Mariano Gallo, who hosts Drag Race Italia and is also known as Priscilla, expressed strong feelings about the ongoing conflict involving Israel and Hamas. “Self-defense my ass!” he exclaimed to the audience.
“Hospitals are being bombed, journalists are speaking the truth, schools are being destroyed, people in tent camps are attacked at night, burned alive, children are being murdered. What more has to happen?” Gallo demanded in a video where he appeared in a women’s outfit and blonde wig.
“Sorry,” he added, taking a moment to compose himself, holding his hand over his eyes, as if he needed time to gather his emotions.
During this moment, the audience applauded, and it appeared that someone next to Gallo was comforting him.
“I can’t comprehend the silence and apathy of people,” he went on. “Is there a chance humanity has really sunk this low? Have we lost all sense of compassion?”
Drag Race Italia host stated, “We’re discussing almost 50,000 children. The data shows that we’re witnessing the destruction of three generations.”
“And some folks are saying, ‘No, it’s not genocide; it’s not that severe. Sure, it’s unfortunate, but self-defense.’ Self-defense my ass!” Gallo reiterated.
“Attacking camps at night while people are asleep isn’t self-defense. Blocking aid for two months and targeting humanitarian ships in international waters off Malta isn’t either.” He continued, “What more has to happen before we say we won’t accept this? What else needs to occur?”
Notably, Israel claims to prioritize the protection of civilians over military objectives more than many other nations in conflict. Nevertheless, Hamas continues to endanger civilians by operating in populated areas like schools and hospitals, which complicates the situation.
