Student in Virginia facing investigation for locker room incident, according to father.

Investigation at Loudoun County Schools

A Virginia father revealed on Wednesday that Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) initiated an inquiry involving his son and two other classmates concerning their presence in the boys’ locker room during a biology class.

A report from May 5 indicated that a biological female student identifying as male documented three male students in the locker room, expressing discomfort with the presence of the transgender student. This led to a formal complaint and a Title IX investigation into potential sexual harassment by LCPS.

Seth Wolf noted on “Fox and Friends” that his son, a sophomore at Stonebridge High School, felt confused about the entire situation. He stated, “This was a conversation he had among his peers. He didn’t even ask students or anything. They can’t question it, and honestly, it’s very confusing.”

School Districts Responding to Gender Identity Policies

Josh Hetzler, an attorney representing the boys, clarified, “These boys did nothing wrong. They were merely questioning why girls were in their locker room.” He argued that the school’s gender policies conflict with state and federal laws, pointing to an executive order by former President Donald Trump regarding gender identity.

Hetzler expressed his worries, saying, “This is a serious issue. There are real victims here who are being punished in this bizarre situation.”

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, along with Attorney General Jason Miyarez, announced an investigation into the locker room incident in light of the report from WJLA. Youngkin remarked, “It’s alarming to think that once again, students’ privacy is being violated in a Loudoun County school. Even more shocking is that the students who reported it are under investigation.”

Loudoun County is one among several districts in Northern Virginia currently facing scrutiny regarding their gender identity policies under the Trump administration.

LCPS Response to Claims

In response to requests for further comment, LCPS strongly denied the reports, labeling them as “false and misleading.” They emphasized that no investigation or discipline would occur regarding students’ personal opinions or beliefs, asserting that such expressions do not breach policies against hate speech or other harmful conduct. However, they stated that disciplinary actions might follow if a student’s conduct breaches the Student Rights and Responsibility Handbook.

LCPS further indicated it could not share specifics to uphold student privacy, expressing disappointment over the public criticism following the WJLA report.

They affirmed, “We are committed to ensuring the rights of all students and creating an environment that welcomes and accepts everyone.”
