Jalen Brunson’s quick response after the Knicks’ Game 2 victory against the Celtics

Knicks Edge Out Celtics in Game 2

After the thrilling Game 2 win in Boston on Wednesday, Jalen Branson appeared just as perplexed as everyone else in the arena.

His two free throws clinched an unexpected 91-90 victory over the Celtics. In a post-game interview with TNT Sports, he was asked about the team’s performance in the fourth quarter, particularly regarding the need for a last-minute push.

Branson struggled to articulate how the Knicks secured another comeback win, simply calling it “wild.”

“Honestly, I don’t know, but I’m just glad we figured out a way to win,” he shared. “It’s pretty wild.”

During the game, Branson scored 17 points. He had a missed opportunity for a game-winning shot at the end of Game 1 but mentioned that he didn’t let that affect him at the free-throw line tonight.

“I got up there, heard the crowd, and tried to focus,” Branson reflected. “And then I just made the two.”

In Game 1, the Knicks pulled off a stunning comeback, taking a 2-0 series lead with an overtime win after trailing by 20 points in the third quarter.

In Game 2, they followed a similar strategy, charging ahead in the fourth quarter after being down by 16 points with just over eight minutes remaining.

Ultimately, it was Branson who helped secure the lead with those crucial two free throws with just 12.1 seconds left, followed by a vital steal from Mikal Bridges as time wound down.
