Tragic Passing of Brazilian Bodybuilding Champion
Guilherme Henrique, a celebrated bodybuilding champion in Brazil, has died at the young age of 30. His girlfriend revealed that the cause of death was suffocation due to bronchial penetration. In light of this sad event, authorities have requested an autopsy to determine the full circumstances surrounding his death.
Known affectionately as the “GUI Bull,” Henrique was a prominent figure in Maringa’s fitness scene. He participated in numerous competitions, excelling particularly in classic physique and classic bodybuilding. Surprisingly, the official cause of his demise hasn’t been fully disclosed yet. However, his girlfriend, Jessica Berenero, took to Instagram to clarify the situation, emphasizing that his passing stemmed from choking and not the various rumors circulating online.
“GUI was the love of my life. He was an incredible person, full of light—he deserves to be remembered as such,” Berenero wrote. “The pain of losing him is unimaginable, and we want to honor him with the dignity he deserves.”
Additionally, the Physical Turismo Federation of Parana confirmed Henrique’s death in a heartfelt statement on Facebook. They referred to him as a “huge human” and celebrated his dedication and talent in bodybuilding. “His journey was filled with determination and love for his sport. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the broader bodybuilding community,” they added.
In light of his passing, Brazilian officials have mandated an autopsy to uncover more about the circumstances surrounding his death. Over the course of his career, Guilherme Henrique secured five titles and garnered substantial support in his local fitness scene. He held a degree in biology from Parana State University and had completed a master’s and doctorate in biochemistry, alongside a nutrition degree from the University of Maringa.
The announcement of his passing prompted an outpouring of tributes online. Many expressed their condolences, reflecting on the shock of his young age. “Go with God… We love you,” one user commented, while another shared, “So young. My heartfelt condolences to his family.”
This news comes just months after the sudden passing of a 20-year-old US bodybuilder and follows the death of a 44-year-old German bodybuilder, emphasizing ongoing concerns within the fitness community about health and safety.
