Biden Reflects on Trump’s 2024 Prospects and Presidential Legacy
In a recent live TV interview, Joe Biden, the former President, took time to address his responsibilities regarding Donald Trump’s potential run for the White House in 2024. He firmly defended his presidency, arguing that Trump had failed to act in the nation’s best interests.
Biden stated, “I see, I’m in charge and he won. So you know, I’m responsible.” This comment highlights his view of the political landscape, where he acknowledges Trump’s impact yet emphasizes his own achievements.
During the interview, Biden criticized Trump’s initial 100 days in office, labeling them the worst for a sitting president. Interestingly, he pointed out that he still sees himself fully engaged in political matters, pushing back against ongoing criticisms of his performance.
Joining co-hosts alongside former First Lady Jill Biden, this was their first joint interview since departing from the White House. They discussed various topics, including accusations from upcoming publications questioning Biden’s cognitive abilities during his presidency. Biden confidently defended his actions, while recognizing that his exit from office wasn’t as smooth as anticipated due to his performance in debates last June.
When asked about the 2024 election results, Biden admitted disappointment regarding Kamala Harris’s loss, although he claimed it wasn’t unexpected. He further attributed her defeat to underlying issues of sexism and racism, saying, “They went on a sexist route.” He expressed his frustration with the persistent perception that women, especially those of mixed race, struggle to lead effectively.
Biden also reflected on the broader implications of Democratic losses in the 2024 elections, suggesting they are part of a global trend. He noted, “Think about it. Liberal democracy across America has lost its last time around the world. I think we underestimate the incredible negative impacts that Covid had.”
