Kennedy refers to himself as a ‘renegade’ when questioned about being under control.

In a Thursday interview, Health and Human Services Director Robert F. Kennedy Jr. described himself as a health “rebel,” though he sidestepped questions regarding allegations from his former running mate that he was “controlled.”

The discussion touched on his association with allies of Surgeon General Casey Means and the broader “American Health” community in the context of the upcoming presidential campaign.

“Look, you’re here and there are four people who’ve been canceled because of Covid,” Kennedy responded to Fox News’ Brett Baier, referencing comments made by Nicole Shanahan, his ex-running buddy, on social media.

Kennedy also mentioned other Trump administration officials present during the interview: Dr. Mehmet Oz, Marty McCurry, and Jay Bhattacharya.

“The leadership here acts as a force against conventional thinking, a rebel seeking the truth no matter the repercussions. Casey is involved in this effort,” he stated.

Shanahan remarked in a post that the announcement of Means’ nomination was “strange” and noted that neither Means nor Carrie had received any promises.

“I was assured that if I backed RFK Jr. for his Senate confirmation, I would receive an appointment, which ideally should go to someone more qualified,” she claimed. “It leaves me wondering if RFK was being truthful with me or what’s truly happening.”

“It became evident in our recent talks that he seems to be answering to someone else who dictates his decisions (and it’s not President Trump),” she added.

Baier concluded the segment with a summary of what he viewed as Kennedy’s responses to his inquiries.
