Trump Signs Executive Order for Immigration Program
President Donald Trump announced an executive order on Friday aimed at establishing a federally funded program for voluntary departure from the United States. This initiative includes paid flights and an “exit bonus” for individuals wishing to leave the country permanently.
In a statement on the White House website, Trump criticized immigrants, labeling their presence as a “full invasion,” particularly those who have remained in the U.S. unlawfully due to crime and violence.
“Individuals staying illegally in America risk penalties, including immediate deportation,” Trump shared on social media.
The promise of financial incentives was accompanied by warnings about the consequences of violating immigration laws. Trump indicated that those who do not opt for voluntary departure could face severe penalties, including significant prison time, hefty fines, and potential confiscation of property and wages.
Trump’s announcement builds on comments made earlier in the week, suggesting that the government would offer a financial incentive for those who choose to leave. Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem noted that the program would provide a $1,000 payment, contingent on confirmed return through a designated application.
In a video released alongside the announcement, Trump stated, “You can go anywhere unless you’re here.”
