Woman sentenced to prison for abusing her son’s 13-year-old friend

A Texas mother has been sentenced to five years in prison for the repeated abuse of her son’s 13-year-old friend at a party.

Natalie Sorrells, 44, a real estate agent and church volunteer from Rockwall County, was found guilty of engaging in sexual contact with a minor in 2023. Reports indicate that Sorrells referred to the boy as a “babe” in messages, and he testified that she provided him and his friends with cigarettes on multiple occasions.

The teen also recounted incidents of sexual contact with Sorrells, mentioning one instance after picking him up from a football game and another at her son’s party.

In court documents, it was revealed that the victim had received a call from Sorrells’ husband questioning if she was being unfaithful.

After the boy’s mother discovered the texts between her son and Sorrells, the victim eventually disclosed the abuse to her.

Sorrells was arrested in February and recently pled guilty to two counts of indecency with a child. Along with her prison sentence, she has been ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.

Prior to her arrest, Sorrells volunteered at Lake Point Church in Rockwall, which expressed shock over the situation and removed her from her volunteer role. They stated that there was no evidence of inappropriate behavior taking place on church property or during church events.

Attempts to reach representatives for Sorrells for further comment were unsuccessful.
