NJ Transit typically runs regularly for passengers, but if you’re planning to attend Shakira’s concerts at MetLife Stadium, things might not go as smoothly.
The agency announced bus and rail services to the stadium will be affected on Thursday and Friday due to a possible strike by NJ Transit Engineers this weekend.
“Given the potential suspension of rail services, NJ Transit will not provide train or bus transport to MetLife Stadium for the Shakira concerts on May 15th and 16th. For further information and travel options, please check metlifestadium.com or follow our updates on social media,” a spokesperson mentioned on Monday.
If the strike happens, it would mark the first such disruption in New Jersey’s bus and rail services since 1983.
The New Jersey Transit Officer and Locomotive Engineer Brotherhood Union is set to meet in Washington on Monday.
On average, NJ Transit serves about 800,000 customers daily, totaling around 270 million passengers annually.
Depending on the strike’s duration, the situation might also disrupt Beyoncé’s upcoming MetLife shows, as she is set to perform five concerts starting May 22nd.
