During a broadcast of CNN’s News Central on Monday, Rep. Goldman (D-NY) purportedly stated that President Donald Trump accepted a $400 million private jet from Qatar’s royal family.
Host John Berman mentioned, “It seems that both U.S. and Qatari lawmakers are finalizing arrangements for significant gifts, including a luxurious 747 aircraft that President Trump is set to receive, which the military could utilize as an air force asset.”
Goldman remarked, “This represents a severe corruption issue, breaching the Constitution, specifically the foreign emoluments clause. Receiving such a gift from a foreign government is not clearly allowed under the Constitution, and it suggests that Donald Trump is simply dealing in self-interest.”
He added, “This situation surpasses anything we’ve encountered before, and I can confirm that the Attorney General has endorsed this after my experience as a former prosecutor with a decade at the DOJ.”
