Man fatally stabbed in NYC during daytime altercation over bus seat, police say

A 41-year-old man was stabbed during an argument over a seat on an MTA shuttle bus in broad daylight, according to authorities.

Alvin Francis was riding the shuttle along the J-Train route just before 2 PM in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, when he got into a dispute with another passenger carrying a backpack. The altercation escalated quickly.

In a sudden and violent clash, the other passenger stabbed Francis in the stomach, sources indicated.

The injured man was immediately taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.

Authorities noted that Francis resided a few miles away in Jamaica, Queens.

Police reported that the attacker was last seen wearing a grey sweatsuit.
