A recent mug shot of the man accused of the Florida State University shooting reveals significant injuries to his face, which was wounded by police during the incident last month.
Phoenix Ikner, aged 20, was charged with first-degree murder and related offenses after the tragic shooting on the Tallahassee campus on April 17.
Following his release from the hospital, he was taken to the Leon County Detention Center, then moved to Wakulla County Detention Center due to his stepmother being a member of Leon’s sheriff’s office.
Ikner is currently awaiting his initial court hearing.
In his booking photo, Ikner displays messy brown hair and a pronounced jawline, looking somewhat harsh.
He may face additional murder charges related to the deaths of six other individuals in the shooting.
Authorities reported that Ikner’s rampage on campus came to a quick end when police returned fire after he did not comply with their orders.
He was said to have used a handgun that belonged to his stepmother, who had previously served in law enforcement.
The victims, as identified by their families, include university meal coordinator Robert Morales and Aramark executive Til Chaba.
