(Nexstar) – Rite Aid is set to shut down nearly 70 stores as part of its ongoing second bankruptcy process.
Recently, court documents revealed plans to close 47 locations across nine states, including some in California, which mirrors the initial round of store closures.
New court documents filed last Friday listed an additional 68 stores slated for closure in seven states.

These closures are subject to court approval.
Even if a local Rite Aid isn’t currently listed for closure, it could still be at risk. Almost all of the approximately 1,240 remaining stores are up for sale, as indicated in a flyer circulated by Nexstar’s WHTM recently.
Rite Aid has stated that while stores remain open, they are working on transferring prescriptions for customers. Details about the exact timeline for closures have yet to be specified.
Customers need to use Rite Aid gift cards, coupons, or rewards by June 6th. Returns or exchanges can be processed until June 4th.
