Trump Receives Royal Welcome in Saudi Arabia
When President Donald Trump arrived in Riyadh, he was escorted by six Royal Saudi Air Force F-15s as he approached the capital. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared a video capturing this escort, thanking the Saudi government for their support. He expressed gratitude for “President Trump’s back” alongside a cheerful message about their prompt arrival.
The video was highlighted on social media, with officials proclaiming that “the Saudi Arabian F-15 will provide honorary escorts to Air Force 1!”
Upon landing at King Khalid International Airport, Trump received a warm welcome from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS). They walked along a purple carpet, flanked by honor guards—a privilege reserved for esteemed guests. Following this, they engaged in a discussion during a ceremonial reception, seated in front of a grand portrait of the royal family.
During the visit, they partook in a traditional Arabic coffee ceremony. Trump then made his way to Alyamama Palace, traversing marble corridors adorned with golden doors, until they reached opulent reception halls resplendent with chandeliers.
In his remarks, Trump commended Saudi leadership for their modernization efforts, emphasizing a vision of the Middle East characterized by commerce rather than turmoil. He remarked on the potential futures for Iran, Lebanon, and Syria.
MBS responded with affection, stating, “I love him so much.” He reflected on critics of Saudi Arabia’s progress over the past eight years, asserting that the kingdom had proven them wrong. Reinforcing the connection between the US and Saudi Arabia, Trump announced an easing of Syrian sanctions at MBS’s and Turkish President Erdoğan’s request, referring to Saudi Arabia as “the center of the world.”
