Trevor Bauer raises doubts about MLB after Pete Rose’s return.

Trevor Bauer, a former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher, has used Pete Rose’s recent return to the league as a way to criticize MLB. On social media, Bauer took aim at the league just a day after it was announced that Rose and several deceased players were removed from the permanently ineligible list. He questioned whether this change would extend to others who have been banned from baseball.

Currently, Bauer is playing in Japan, having been out of the MLB for four years. This absence follows serious allegations of sexual assault against him in 2021, leading to a lengthy suspension that went from 324 games down to 194 after an appeal. Although his suspension has ended, no MLB team has signed him since then.

In an August post, Bauer suggested that the league’s decisions, rather than his talent, were preventing him from joining a new team. A particular team claimed it was not their choice but rather a decision made by MLB. Another team cited cost as a reason for not signing him, despite his willingness to play for less.

A spokesperson for MLB stated that Bauer is technically a free agent and can be signed by any team. It’s important to note that Bauer was never charged with a crime; the prosecutor’s office determined there wasn’t sufficient evidence to substantiate the allegations against him.

Additionally, another woman has accused Bauer of similar misconduct dating back to their years-long relationship, which he claims was consensual and casual.

Bauer spent the 2023 season playing for a Japanese team and is expected to be with Diablos Rojos in the upcoming Mexican Baseball League season.
