Trump Visits US Military Base in Qatar

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – President Trump made a stop at the largest US military base in the Middle East on Thursday, celebrating the troops stationed in Qatar while highlighting recent investments from the Arab nation in American military equipment.

“Yesterday, Qatar signed a deal to purchase US military hardware worth $42 billion,” Trump mentioned, listing advanced equipment like Pegasus refueling aircraft, amphibious combat vehicles, and MQ-9B planes.

“I don’t think our friendship has ever been stronger,” he commented on the US-Qatar relationship.

Trump pointed out Qatar’s security needs in the region, asserting that “no one will undermine” his connection with Emir Tamim bin Hamad al Thani and emphasized that the US will “protect” this oil-rich country.

“We’ve never had a relationship as strong with Qatar. You’re glad they are here, and we are committed to your protection,” he added.

Later on, they flew to the United Arab Emirates, where Arab leaders expressed feelings of being “hungry for love” that they felt had been lacking under the Biden administration, referencing Biden’s dealings with Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.

“They might feel neglected and turn to China,” he remarked, reflecting on the concerns of Arab nations.

During a roundtable discussion, Trump shared updates regarding the F-22 program and discussed plans for advanced US warplanes, including the Boeing F-47, named after both the current 47th president and the year the Air Force was founded.

Sitting next to Boeing CEO Kelly Autoberg, he also announced plans for the F-55 Fighter Jet, which had not been publicly discussed prior. “If the price is right, I think this will be a significant upgrade from the F-35,” Trump stated.

“The F-22 is the most beautiful fighter jet in the world, but the F-22 Super is an updated version that will be very modern,” he added.

Details about the F-55 remain unclear; however, the already announced F-47 is expected to work in tandem with drones.

“It operates alongside a lot of drones, correct?” Trump asked Autoberg. “Do you want to discuss that?”

Ortberg expressed frustration about delays in developing a new Air Force, indicating there were limitations on what he could say for security reasons.

Boeing’s CEO did not comment on Trump’s proposal for the F-55.

“Our Air Force will soon include the F-47, the first and only sixth-generation fighter jet worldwide. The naming of the 47—does anyone know why? I’m not sure,” he mused.

“It’s a remarkable aircraft… and we’re also looking at an improved version of the F-35. I believe we’ll name this the F-55. I like double-engine planes,” he remarked.

Trump also touted American supremacy in submarines, stating the latest model could stay submerged for 30 years, aside from needing food.

At the Air Force Base, he encouraged service members with his signature rally tune “God Bless the USA,” suggesting they should receive notable pay raises as military recruitment numbers rise alongside his proposed budget.

“You are an extraordinary group,” Trump told the soldiers. “We will increase your salaries significantly.”

His promise resonated at Al Udeid’s Air Force Base.

“This four-and-a-half-day trip is something I was very eager for, being with people I genuinely look forward to spending time with,” Trump expressed.

“We love and respect you. Your service is crucial for the safety of our country,” he said, acknowledging those who must live on the base without a spouse and highlighting soldiers from Butler, Pennsylvania.

“We have a great, proud, and respected country worldwide. As I mentioned a year ago, we laughed then, but our country is no longer the subject of laughter.”

“Thank you for being part of the most respected country in the world, and we hope you find joy in your lives,” he concluded.
