And just like that, the drama has come to an end.
Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. stirred up quite a bit of attention earlier this season with a post on social media expressing his grievances about the team.
Flashback to April, when Braves outfielder Jarred Kelenic thought he had hit a home run, casually leaving the batter’s box. He wasn’t running at full speed, which raised some eyebrows. Following the game, Atlanta’s manager, Brian Snittker, deflected a question from the press about whether he should address the situation with Kelenic, responding with a mix of confusion and implication that it should be handled among the players.
Acuna later weighed in on the incident through social media, mentioning, “If it were me, they would take me out of the game.” This comment sparked a bit of a media frenzy. (Related: Former MLB All-Star Rafael Furcal reportedly encountered a serious situation after a reckless throw.)
Acuna had a point—he faced backlash for his own lack of effort that got him benched for a play similar to Kelenic’s. And yes, he received some criticism from Snittker for those actions as well. Yet, it was clear that this wasn’t the best way to voice his concerns.
That’s probably why he’s offering an apology now.
Recently speaking to the media, Acuna admitted he owes an apology to both Snittker and his teammates.

Now, let’s hope my Braves can get back to winning. The start of this season has been a bit rough.
