Trump surprises 104-year-old WWII veteran with birthday greeting following viral TikTok

Trump Wishes 104th Birthday to WWII Veteran

On Thursday, President Trump took a moment to send birthday wishes to World War II veteran Denver Moore, who just celebrated his 104th birthday.

Moore, a resident of Ohio, gained attention in March when he extended a personal invite to Trump for his birthday party, which has since garnered over 890,000 views on social media.

In that viral video, Moore said, “President Trump… I’m gonna turn 104 in May. I’m inviting you to my birthday party at the Canal Fulton. I was able to vote for you again and I hope I can vote for you a little more.”

This week, Moore received a video message from Trump, delivered by Rep. Michael Rulli of Ohio.

“Hello, Denver! I wish you a very happy 104th birthday from your greatest president of all time. That’s me, Donald Trump,” the president said in the clip. He added, somewhat jokingly, that he wished he could attend the birthday party but was busy with international issues.

“But I just want to thank you for your incredible service to our country and for your support in making America great again. Happy birthday, you are a very, very special man,” Trump continued.

Meanwhile, Trump is currently wrapping up a significant tour, marking the first time a U.S. president has visited the United Arab Emirates in nearly two decades.

Moore, who lives at the Danbury Senior Living facility in Massillon, responded to the video in an interview. He quipped that Trump’s birthday wish was a delight, saying, “It didn’t happen to someone better.”

In a previous chat with Fox News Digital, he expressed how surreal it felt to have his invitation go viral. The response he received from people across the country—and even from as far as Africa—was overwhelming, with many sending messages and birthday cards.

Rep. Rulli reflected on the moment he saw Moore’s video, noting the blend of patriotism and personal milestone. He remarked on how surprising it was that such an esteemed veteran lived in his district.

Lawmakers reached out to the White House to fulfill Moore’s heartfelt invitation to the president.

“President Trump and his team recorded those special video messages just for him, and we’re extremely grateful to the caring team at Danbury Senior Living,” Rulli said. “Moore’s life and service reflect the spirit of our nation, and it’s important to celebrate him.”

Moore, a long-time Trump supporter, has expressed his approval of many of the president’s decisions. “He may make a mistake, but he does almost everything right,” he reflected previously.

Having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the war, Moore later enjoyed a career with the U.S. Postal Service. He raised three children with his late wife, Thelma Lee, with whom he shared 75 years of marriage before her passing in 2022.

Friends and family say Moore remains mentally sharp and physically active, which could be his secret to a long and fulfilling life. He mentioned, “I was always doing something. I grew up on a farm, and we did everything.” He added, “It’s about marrying the right woman and living life to the fullest.”
