Belichick Addresses Girlfriend’s Role in UNC Email Controversy
Bill Belichick seems eager to clear the air regarding his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, and her involvement with the North Carolina football program.
During a recent appearance on NFL analyst Ryan Clark’s “The Pivot” podcast, the 73-year-old coach shared details about Hudson’s role at UNC, explaining why her name came up in an email from the football department.
Belichick mentioned that he had asked the 24-year-old Hudson to help him with an email since the program lacked a dedicated sports information department. “She was basically filtering through it for me,” he said.
He recalled the initial contact from North Carolina: “They sent an email saying, ‘These people want to talk to you,’ and I thought, ‘Let me include Jordon here so she can handle the requests.'” Without someone in that position, it made sense for Hudson to step in.
“We didn’t have anyone running the sports information side, so Jordon was filling that gap,” he elaborated. This situation likely contributed to the attention surrounding their relationship.
As the conversation continued, Belichick discussed why UNC was included in this year’s “Hard Knocks.” He noted that the series, typically aligned with training camps, didn’t mesh well with their team’s dynamics. “It’s about who’s getting cut, and that sort of drama isn’t what we’re about right now,” he pointed out.
“Look, there are film considerations, but even if we sorted them all out, it still didn’t feel like it fit for us,” Belichick concluded, emphasizing his perspective on the issue.
These comments surfaced just after a quick chat on ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” where he reiterated that Hudson is not involved with the football team. “It’s a personal relationship, really. She has no connection to UNC football,” he clarified during that segment.
