Trump’s Upcoming Call with Putin
President Trump is set to have a significant phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday morning. This follows a lecture he delivered in Türkiye last week.
In a post on Truth Social dated Saturday, Trump stated that the main goal of the call is to “stop the blood bath” that is affecting both Russian and Ukrainian soldiers. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov mentioned that the call will take place at 10 a.m. EDT. Following his discussion with Putin, Trump also noted he would speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt is expected to give a brief update to reporters at 9 a.m. EDT, which might provide some context about the upcoming call. She might also touch upon a motion to push forward Trump’s plans. Additionally, the House Budget Panel is set to approve a settlement bill involving the Chamber of Commerce in a vote later on Sunday.
Earlier on Monday, the former president shared a new statement on X, the day after news broke regarding Joe Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis.
“Cancer touches all of us. Like many of you, Jill and I have discovered that we are strongest in our broken places. Thank you for your love and support,” he expressed. He mentioned he would share a photo featuring himself with former First Lady Jill Biden.
