Kid Rock Commends Trump, Critiques Cancel Culture
Musician Kid Rock has expressed his appreciation for President Donald Trump’s efforts to combat what he describes as “cancel culture” and initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
The singer, a long-time Trump supporter, shared his thoughts during an interview at his “Rock n Rodeo” event in Texas.
“I think the charm and the culture of day and cancellation is beginning to leave the building, and I can thank President Trump for leading the charge again. I call him the Dragon Slayer in that respect,” he remarked.
In his interview, Kid Rock acknowledged that there’s always a risk of some cultural elements being canceled but claimed he wouldn’t participate in such actions.
“There’s always a culture that’s been canceled on a certain level. Someone wants to protest about this, and people end up not buying certain products. Personally, I don’t see much in terms of people losing their jobs over corporate decisions,” he elaborated. “But sometimes it needs to happen. I had my moment with Bud Light and others, but, in the end, it’s all good. Let’s move forward.”
The “Born Free” artist then elaborated on his vision for America.
“I think merit-based systems should be back. The best and hardest working should rise to the top. I honestly don’t understand how we got here; it’s just common sense. The most capable should excel.”
He also labeled Trump “the greatest president of all time.”
“When I think about Trump’s presidency, I can’t help but feel he’s the biggest president of all time. It’s not just our friendship or the fun we have on the golf course, but his sheer tenacity.”
Kid Rock mentioned noticing a shift in the entertainment industry, particularly during the recent inauguration, noting it’s acceptable for various artists to align themselves with the current leadership.
“It feels like a revitalization of our country,” he commented, as reported.
Finally, the 54-year-old artist expressed satisfaction with Trump’s significant electoral win.
“Given the context of two assassination attempts, I’m thrilled he won a landslide victory. I felt confident despite the media’s predictions otherwise. I continually reminded him that while I can engage with reasonable people on the left, we can’t overlook the bad actors. Beyond that, we need to unite this country.”
