Fake it
The latest season of this reality show, which initially aired in the early 2000s, doesn’t quite capture the original charm of participants exploring new opportunities. Still, it’s entertaining. It kicks off with Rex, a posh real estate agent from Surrey, who ventures to Bolton—”it’s just north, I guess”—to try his hand as a market trader. With his floppy hair and flashy shoes, plus an exaggerated Northern accent that feels a bit off, he seems to prioritize fun over work.
Who do you think you are?
This episode features Eyeslingbee, who is pregnant and on a mission to uncover her ancestry before expanding her family. She traces her lineage back to Laoa County and further to Brasket Island, discovering a lineage of strong women and Irish rebels along the way.
British blood scandal: poisoned at school
In this compelling documentary, viewers are taken into the depths of a scandal related to infected blood, particularly affecting individuals at Hampshire’s Treroll School and Hospital Lord. During the 1970s and 1980s, many hemophilia patients were administered Factor VIII, a treatment meant to help them but instead led to tragic outcomes. It provides a detailed look at one of the most significant disasters in NHS history.
Rich flavors of Big Zuu and AJ Tracy
This light-hearted series follows Big Zuu and his cousin, rapper AJ Tracey, as they embark on unique culinary adventures around the globe. Starting in Korea, they indulge in extravagant barbecues featuring premium Japanese beef, even cooking for the Korean royal family. AJ expresses his concerns about Zuu, remarking, “I’m a bit worried about how loud he can be,” which adds a fun dynamic to their travels.
Brontes by Anita Rani: The Sisters of Confusion
Anita Rani, who felt like a misfit as one of the few Asian girls in her Bradford school, discusses her admiration for the Bronte Sisters, drawing parallels to her own experiences. In this heartfelt film, she visits the Bronte country to explore the complexities and richness of their stories.
Matlock
This reboot gives a fresh twist to the classic “Matlock” series, featuring Kathy Bates as a clever attorney who uses the name “Matlock” almost as a nostalgic nod to older shows. As the first season wraps up, Matty’s underground investigations into opioids come to light, causing some tension with her colleague Olympia, played by Sky P Marshall. It raises the question: can they maintain their professional alliance?
