Former President Joe Biden revealed last Sunday that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer.
He shared a photo with former first lady Jill Biden on social media as part of his announcement.
Biden’s Gleason score, which indicates the severity of prostate cancer, is notably high at 9 out of 10.
In reaction, Blazetv host Sarah Gonzalez expressed concern about the implications of Biden’s presidency, pondering how the country could permit someone in his condition to lead and potentially impact healthcare access.
Gonzalez raised her doubts regarding the timing and nature of Biden’s diagnosis, questioning whether the tests were effectively conducted when they should have been.
She noted, “This individual has had access to top-tier healthcare, yet it took until now to diagnose what is clearly advanced cancer. Was there a failure to test?”
Despite ongoing assurances from Biden’s medical team about his capacity to lead, some are skeptical, pointing to physical signs that indicate he may not be in the best shape.
“Certainly, he’s an 80-year-old with a well-documented history of health problems,” Gonzalez added.
She isn’t alone in her doubts. Dr. David Shusterman, a urologist, also weighed in, mentioning that it’s uncommon for regular screenings to miss such significant changes.
“Typically, we don’t see cases like this unless patients are way overdue for care, sometimes even for years,” Shusterman explained.
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, an oncologist, further emphasized that there’s a strong likelihood that Biden’s cancer developed over a longer period, perhaps even a decade, rather than in mere days or weeks.
Gonzalez concluded by stating, “It’s hard to believe this was just discovered, especially considering his role as President.”
“It’s quite shocking, really,” she remarked.
