The Knicks are set to compete against Indiana in the Eastern Conference Finals, marking their first appearance in this round in 25 years.
During the 1990s, while Michael Jordan and the Bulls were a source of sorrow for the Knicks, the real antagonists were the Indiana Pacers, led by Reggie Miller. Their playoff clashes spanned six intense series over an eight-year period from 1993 to 2000.
New York advanced to the NBA Finals by defeating the Pacers in 1994 and 1999, but fell short against the Rockets and Spurs.
This time around, the Knicks, propelled by Jalen Brunson, are in pursuit of the franchise’s first championship since 1973. They face off against the Pacers again, led by All-Star Guard Tyrese Haliburton, after a tough seven-game battle in the second round last season.
