Cincinnati Bengals’ 2025 Season Outlook
The Cincinnati Bengals had high hopes for last season, but, unfortunately, they missed the playoffs. In the offseason, the team’s management focused on boosting quarterback Joe Burrow’s arsenal of talent by re-signing key players like Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. When the team’s schedule was made public, Burrow expressed some disappointment.
The NFL recently released its full schedule for all 32 teams. Among the highlights, the league is set to have its first regular-season game in Spain, but the Bengals won’t be a part of that international experience in 2025.
Burrow expressed a desire to play in an international game someday. “It’s a bit disappointing that we don’t have that stage this season. I feel like we’ve worked hard to promote the game internationally over the last 18 months or so,” he mentioned. He remains hopeful that he’ll get that opportunity at some point in his career.
This season, one of the three scheduled Thanksgiving games features the Bengals in Baltimore against the Ravens. This marks the fourth consecutive year they’re playing an away game against their AFC North rivals on a primetime stage. Burrow commented on this, saying, “It’s not ideal to play in Baltimore for the fourth year in a row at primetime. Maybe we could get one of those games at home?”
In related news, NFL owners unanimously approved the participation of players in flag football for the 2028 Olympics. During a spring meeting in Minnesota, the league was granted permission to negotiate details regarding safety and scheduling with the appropriate governing bodies. Burrow shared his excitement about potentially competing in the Olympics, recognizing it as an incredible opportunity. However, he admitted uncertainty over how it would fit into his training and responsibilities.
Last season, the Bengals finished with a record of 9-8. Looking ahead, they will kick off their 2025 season against the Cleveland Browns on September 7.
