Paul Vegara Discusses Biden’s Mental Fitness Comments

During NPR’s “Everything is considered” broadcast on Tuesday, CNN contributor and Democratic strategist Paul Vegara expressed that Joe Biden’s comments regarding his mental fitness did not affect the credibility of the Democratic Party. He noted, “I don’t think Democrats, facing mid-term voters, support that.” He added, “There were politicians who wished him well, but they were unaware of the full situation.”

Co-host Mary Louise Kelly raised a question about the party’s capacity to hold President Trump and his administration accountable for policies they oppose, emphasizing that credibility is crucial in this context.

Vegara responded, “We didn’t even get a slight knock. I believe members of the Biden team misled us. Every statement from Donald Trump seems incorrect. For 531 days, we’ve been strategizing politically while facing rising costs for healthcare and other expenses.”

Kelly agreed, saying, “Exactly. I don’t believe Democrats dealing with voters in the middle were conspiring in any way. The book gave me the impression it involved a small group of aides.”
