Richard Carapaz Triumphs in Giro d’Italia Stage 11

Richard Carapaz secured victory in Stage 11 of the Giro d’Italia on Wednesday, making a strong solo push in the final nine kilometers.

This particular stage presented a tough 186-kilometer course stretching from Viareggio to Castelnovo ne’ Monti, which has been highlighted as one of the most demanding sectors in this year’s Giro.

About 15 kilometers in, Carapaz, riding for EF Education-EasyPost, surged ahead, leaving the peloton behind and eventually catching the breakaway group. With just 9 kilometers to go, he made his decisive move.

The Ecuadorian finished strong, crossing the line with an 18-second lead. Del Toro trailed as a chaser, securing second place ahead of Giulio Ciccone, who rounded out the podium. Meanwhile, Del Toro maintained the pink jersey, with teammate Juan Ayuso coming in second overall in the general classification.
