Trump Challenges Ramaphosa Over Allegations Against South Africa
In a recent meeting, President Trump confronted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with serious accusations. He claimed that the black majority government in South Africa is engaged in the violence against white farmers, showcasing alarming videos he argued depict crimes against humanity.
Some of this footage featured Julius Malema, a prominent leader known for his left-wing populist views. Malema has been vocal about his antagonism towards the approximately 4.5 million white citizens — around 7.3% of the total population — whom he has called for the murder of.
Trump didn’t hold back in criticizing Ramaphosa for new legislation that permits the South African government to seize unused land. This discussion came as Elon Musk, originally from South Africa and one of Trump’s advisors, appears to be observing the situation closely.
During their exchange, Trump shared what his friends from South Africa had told him: “They take your land, and they will kill you.”
In response, Ramaphosa defended his government. He stressed, “The speech you’re making is not indicative of our government policies. Our policies directly contradict what he was saying.”
