Incident Involving Israeli Embassy Staff in Washington, D.C.
Two employees from the Israeli embassy tragically lost their lives following an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.
The deceased have been identified as Jaron Lisinsky and Sarah Milgrim.
Reports indicate a Palestinian man has been taken into custody for the shooting. Authorities confirmed that he allegedly targeted the two embassy staff members as they were leaving the event on Wednesday night.
During a press briefing, Metropolitan Police Department chief Pamela Smith noted that multiple calls reporting the shooting came in around 9:08 PM. Upon arrival, officers found both victims unresponsive. Despite the best efforts from first responders, both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses recounted that the shooter shouted “Free Palestine.” One observer shared that after the incident, the suspect entered the museum looking for water and claimed he needed a safe space, all while repeating his statement before being apprehended by police.
Former President Donald Trump responded to the situation, labeling the incident as rooted in anti-Semitism. He expressed his concerns, stating, “It’s clearly based on anti-Semitism, it has to end now!”
In his statement, Trump conveyed his sympathies to the victims’ families, emphasizing the need for a stand against hatred and extremism in America.
