Shooting Incident at CIA Headquarters
WASHINGTON — A woman was shot and killed early Thursday morning at CIA headquarters after she didn’t comply with security requests at the checkpoint.
The incident, described as a “non-fatal shooting,” occurred before 4 a.m. near the main gate of the agency located in McLean, Virginia, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Fairfax County Police Department.
“FCPD officers are now in the area assisting with transportation, while the CIA is conducting its own investigation,” the spokesperson added, suggesting a coordinated effort over the sensitive nature of the event.
On a related note, a CIA representative provided a statement indicating, “There was a security incident prompting law enforcement’s response. The main gate remains closed until further notice, with more information to be shared if needed.”
This tragic event happened just hours after an attack on two staff members from the Israeli embassy outside the capital’s Jewish Museum, which is approximately 12 miles away from Langley.
The FBI has been contacted for further details.
