Scott Adams, the creator of the comic strip Dilbert, shared that President Trump reached out to him to offer prayers following his cancer diagnosis.
Adams discussed the call on his podcast, Coffee with Scott Adams.
“So, yesterday, I was home and a lot of people have been contacting me regarding my recent health news, which I can’t address individually,” he explained.
He mentioned that he initially sent the call to voicemail, not realizing it was Trump calling.
“I saw a number I didn’t recognize, something from Florida, and I sent it to voicemail,” he recalled. “Later, I thought I should check the voicemail to see if it was something urgent. The first line of the transcription read, ‘This is your favorite president.’ Did I really just send the most important person in the world to voicemail?”
This week, it was reported that Scott Adams disclosed his recent prostate cancer diagnosis around the same time former President Joe Biden announced he had the same condition.
“I have the same cancer as Joe Biden,” Adams stated. “It’s prostate cancer that has spread to my bones.”
He also shared that his life expectancy might only extend to “probably this summer,” and has needed a walker multiple times in recent months.
“It’s almost like civilization has a way of helping you know how long you have left, which allows you to organize your thoughts, say your goodbyes, and take care of everything you need to,” he remarked.
“It’s incredibly painful, but in a way, it gives you time to sort things out while your mind is still functioning,” he added.
